GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Under general supervision, the Data Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for financial master data maintenance within the Municipality’s SAP enterprise resource planning system for its financial accounting and controlling (FICO) and supply chain management (SCM) modules, and its business planning and consolidation (BPC) tool. This position resolves data quality issues, safeguards against data loss, and guides decision makers on the use of master data. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Ensure accuracy and timely execution of all requests received for the maintenance of vendor, material, service, chart of accounts, cost centers, and other master data change requests. 
  • Perform vendor master data maintenance and analysis for duplicate vendors, inactive vendors, material master data, and service master data. 
  • Coordinate business requests to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely changes with little or no negative impact to meeting the needs of internal/external customers. 
  • Recommend modifications to material master data.  
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies and procedures. 
  • Prepare data reports as requested. 
  • Identify causes of poor data quality, recommend solutions, and communicate findings to employees, management, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in discussions regarding reporting and the use of business data across the enterprise.
  • Support the development and revision of procedures and guiding documents to ensure standardization and accuracy of master data processes.
  • Complete all applicable data updates in the system as required. 
  • Perform other duties as required.

 


QUALIFICATIONS

 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Working knowledge of current versions of SAP as it relates to financial accounting and controlling, materials management, inventory, and warehouse management.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistical and financial Information processes.
  • Ability to analyze information from a variety of sources to summarize and provide recommendations. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative, collaborative, and productive work relationships.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision using initiative and judgment in dealing with deadlines and workload.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain clear communication and positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).

 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Diploma in Business Administration or Finance is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a role responsible for financial, materials management and/ or procurement functions, which includes the regular use of SAP. 
  • Experience managing master data is preferred.

 


OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check for review and acceptance.
