- Manages, maintains, and updates a complex computerized asset management system and databases to facilitate and expedite the usability, accuracy, integrity, and availability of data for planning and space utilization purposes.
- Coordinates the development of space inventory data and manages information to analyze current space planning.
- Makes recommendations to integrate into the master plan, strategic plan, and Municipal Development Plan.
- Develops space utilization recommendations and solutions for unique project planning, engineering, and administrative challenges as needed; inclusive of spatial and equipment/furniture standards.
- Periodically inspects projects to ensure availability of space and accurate inventory.
- Conducts quarterly space audits to determine space needs and priorities for required changes to allow work progress in a sequential order.
- Acts as a liaison with personnel confirming accuracy of data and details of project requirements, developing an understanding of needs, and recommending solutions utilizing technology.
- Responds to various requests for reports and documentation to assist the Municipality in short- and long-range planning.
- Establishes and implements methods, systems, and procedures to systematically collect, update, and measure data related to space planning and design of space related accommodations.
- Assists with plans for Master Plan of physical facilities and identify major uses, building sites, parking, and space planning for short, medium- and long-term use.
- Work and coordinate with contractors to create plans and schedules are finalized.
- Create and modify complex spreadsheets.
- Integrate data from Pictometry, Google Earth, and maps into AutoCad drawings, create, update, and modify drawings for furniture layout and building modifications.
- Ensure all plans and projects adhere to any applicable regulations or legislation including, but not limited to, the National Building Code and the National Fire Code.
- Keeps abreast of technological developments which are related to the development or modification of computerized systems.
- Reviews, evaluates, and recommends support tools, software, and related technology as it pertains to space management.
- Performs various administrative duties including, but not limited to, assisting with operating and capital budget preparation, administering all tenant/client service requests pertaining to space planning.
- Works with vendors, users, and technical staff to develop requirements for computerized systems and procedures.
- Provides support for planning and implementation of Master Moves, including managing all proposed changes and ensuring relocations are in keeping with facility/departmental spatial planning strategies and standards/guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Proficiency using and working with current versions of various software and programs including, but not limited to AutoCAD, photo editing software, CAFM software, and Microsoft Office Suite (as they pertain to graphic presentation).
- Ability to use 3D rendering software is considered an asset.
- Ability to clarify and convey information in a clear and concise manner, verbally or in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative, collaborative, and productive work relationships.
- Diploma in Interior Design or Architectural Technology is required.
- Five (5) years of progressive experience in a work environment focused directly on space planning, interior design (with a focus on office design) or architectural design is required.
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture is required.
- Three (3) years of progressive experience in a work environment focused directly on space planning, interior design (with a focus on office design) or architectural design is required.
- Professional designations with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) or Interior Designers of Alberta (IDA) are assets.
- Submission of a Criminal Record Check.
- A valid Class 5 Operator’s Licence is required as incumbent will be required to operate a personal or municipal vehicle for business use on a regular basis.
